Hello! I'm Katherine.
I am a photographer in Eastern North Carolina. I grew up in California and went to college for the 'creative' side of Computer Science. I also studied Fine Art- film, photography, drawing, art history. I graduated from CSU Chico in 2007 with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science- Applied Computer Graphics and an Art Studio Minor. I also hold an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from Sierra College (2004).
My first foray into photography was high school (2001) and 35mm film techniques and darkroom. I bought my first digital camera and took my first photo computer class in 2005, and bought my first DSLR in 2009. In 2014 I acquired my second camera. I started Katherine's Kreations L.L.C. in April of 2014. I acquired a 3rd camera in 2017 along with various lenses, giving me (and my clients!) more creative options.
Capturing Memories
My passion is happiness. I love smiles, being present at people's most wonderful moments, and capturing them forever. I know how powerful a photo can be. It is an honor to be asked to share important moments in someone's life. I love creating a fun environment, we'll be friends when I'm done! I'll give you any and all tips I know to make sure you look great. I make sure you are happy, so that you recommend me to your friends because the best advertisement is word of mouth.
I do whatever it takes to get great photos, from laying on the ground to standing on a chair. One client looked up from her first bite of a wedding cupcake and said, "You're like a Ninja!" That's a compliment to me! I strive to catch all the best moments during weddings and events as well as make creative photos. I'm quick, I have been told I am "everywhere", that I have great timing and eye for the shot. One of my favorite parts of photography is post-production. "Photoshop." I believe there is an artistry in looking at a photo and seeing the possibilities. I will use all the skills and tools I have to turn a great photo into a creative piece you will cherish.
